Casa B is a modern concrete house with a glass-bottomed pool in an old neighborhood
Located in the town of St. Julien’s, Malta, Casa B is one marvel of a house. The tall concrete-built house has a clear glass encased swimming pool constructed right on top of the main living area.
Designed by the Italian company, Architrend Architecture, which is popular for many of its other unique housing designs, but Casa B holds its own form of uniqueness. It stands out among its neighboring traditional, terraced houses with off-white and beige tones as a more modern and chic living space.
Casa B shows off a relatively thin frame of concrete geometrically placed, holding two wide-windowed lower storeys and a top floor that has the special glass bottomed and sided swimming pool that not only makes it clearly visible from inside the house but also from right below on the street, making it a prominent part of the main architecture.
The house consists mainly of four different floors. The basement which leads to a garage from right at the front of the house and a home cinema to add to the luxury of the residence. The next are grey concrete stairs that lead to a tall wooden front door that opens up into a foyer area that is double in height. This gives a visual spectacle of a vast space from underneath the pool area when viewed from the outside. There is an opening in the foyer that reveals the underside of the glass pool, letting natural light to enter the house and illuminating the living space. The ground floor has a modern interior with a large bookcase at the back of a sitting area, a bedroom, a bathroom and a gym.
Taking the staircase up to the second floor, we see yet another living room area, following a similar dark theme, along with another bathroom. A small terrace space gives a view of the floor underneath it, making the design more compact.
The top floor has a kitchen, a dining area along with the third bathroom in the house. All these floors can be accessed by both stairs and elevator. The top floor also hosts the main spectacle of the house the clear swimming pool that tops it off and finishes the chic looking design. The pool can be enjoyed by having a look around the neighborhood using the terrace that conveniently surrounds it.
The entire house is given electricity by the solar panels installed at the roof to make use of environmentally friendly energy. This feature adds to the wonder of the house and makes it more striking among other contemporary houses.
Casa B was completed this year, and it is added to the list of chic modern houses with a rooftop pool.
